Where the wine lives

Vila Nova de Gaia The aging cellars sit on the south bank of the Douro, 15 minutes' walk from central Porto across the Dom Luís I Bridge.
Douro Valley The vineyards. Around 90 minutes east of Porto by car or train. Day trips pick you up in the city.

Peak season May-October. Cellar slots fill up a week ahead; Douro day trips 3-5 days ahead in summer.
Harvest September-October. Some quintas still foot-tread the grapes — confirm before booking if that's what you want to see.
