Fondation Louis Vuitton Tickets: Prices, Hours & Tips
The €18 timed ticket is the only standard entry on sale, the building closes on Tuesdays, and until 8 March 2027 the Gustave Fayet show puts Van Gogh, Gauguin and Redon inside Gehry's glass sails.
Most people come for the building. Frank Gehry's glass sails at the edge of the Bois de Boulogne are why the Fondation Louis Vuitton turns up in every Paris photo feed. This winter the inside earns the trip as well: a Van Gogh self-portrait that, according to the Fondation, has not been shown in France for decades hangs in the same exhibition as Gauguin's Yellow Christ.

How much are Fondation Louis Vuitton tickets?
€18 full price. €10 for under-26s, students and French teachers. €5 for under-18s, professional artists, tour guides and French job seekers. Free for under-3s, disabled visitors with one companion, ICOM members and press. On Thursdays, higher-education students enter free with proof.
The family ticket is €36 for two adults and up to four children under 18. With two teenagers, separate tickets come to €46, so the family rate saves €10.
Every ticket is dated and timed, and you enter within about 30 minutes of your slot. Tickets are not refundable. The same ticket covers the Jardin d'Acclimatation next door.
Where to book
Our take: Book direct and pick your slot early for weekends, because the official €18 ticket is the only standard entry on sale.
What is on: Gustave Fayet, Collector – Designer
Fayet collected Gauguin and Redon on a scale few others matched, and designed objects of his own. The exhibition fills every gallery with 728 works and documents: 10 Van Gogh paintings, 78 works by Gauguin, 86 by Redon, plus Degas, Cézanne, Toulouse-Lautrec and Matisse. The top floor holds Fayet's own designs, including ceramics and watercolours on blotting paper.
What to look for
Stand in front of Van Gogh's Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and Pipe. It is the loan most visitors will come for, and the reason to book before the final weeks.
Compare Gauguin's The Yellow Christ with his Self-Portrait with the Yellow Christ. In the second, the first painting hangs behind the artist, so you see the same image twice in one room.
Look for Redon's Day, Night and Silence panels. He painted them for the library of Fontfroide Abbey, so read them as decoration for a room, not as easel paintings.
Go up to the top floor before you leave. Fayet's own work is the part of the show you will not see anywhere else.
When is the Fondation Louis Vuitton least busy?
The main wait is the security check, not the ticket desk. According to Affluences, which tracks crowds at the door, Sunday is the busiest day because families also come for the Jardin d'Acclimatation. Late afternoon, Friday evening and Monday, Wednesday or Thursday are quieter. The first and last weeks of a big exhibition fill up fastest, so expect late February and early March 2027 to be packed.
The terraces and Olafur Eliasson's Inside the Horizon in the Grotto are worth the extra half hour. The Fondation warns that both can close at short notice, so do not plan the visit around them.
How do you get to the Fondation Louis Vuitton?
The electric shuttle leaves every 20 minutes from 44 avenue de Friedland, by exit 2 of Charles de Gaulle–Étoile, a short walk from the Arc de Triomphe. It costs €2 return. The alternative is Métro line 1 to Les Sablons, then 950 m on foot.
The Musée Marmottan Monet sits about 2 km away and closes on Mondays. The Fondation closes on Tuesdays, so pick Wednesday to Sunday to see both in one day.
